Grégoire and Marie-Marthe
Gabriel are the owners and outfitters of Champdoré.The
Gabriels are a Montagnais family, who have been frequenting
Champdoré a lot longer than anyone else. Blessed with
great patience and a wonderful sense of humor, spending time
with them is a highlight for all our guests. A trip to Champdoré
is also a unique cultural experience as well as a unique fishing
experience. You would be hard pressed to find a family anywhere
on earth that would make you feel more welcome, or take better
care of you, than the Gabriels..
Bill Hylander is Director of the
Duke University Primate Center and a Professor of Biological
Anthropology and Anatomy at Duke University. He does research
in South Africa, Madagascar and Israel, and raises cattle in
the Blue Ridge Mountains of southwestern Virginia. When he is
not at Champdoré fishing or guiding, or teaching at Duke,
or tending his cattle, or watching Duke basketball, he is most
likely in Africa working on his antelope project.
